Matt, Did you get the cd I sent around the 10 of July. I also enclosed on for our friend on the island. I told the Rockton boys where the Crappie were, but doubt that they will want to do such a long portage. Hope the rest of the season is going good and that you still have help working at the camp. hey gary : where did you portage for the crappie? you seemed to be wanting to say something to me , but, ran out of space . we always go to blueberry for crappie. is matt holding out onus. makes no difference, i'm too damn old to portage anywhere.

I agree LO to old to portage. I have a hard enough time getting in the boat. I know the secret spot but not going to do it. Dynamite works just as good! We use to trek into Wake for SM Bass & Northern - not going to do that either.

ever go into maude? bob and i would take that portage and the fishing was fantastic . Slabs as big as frying pans. Me and the guys will be up there on the 9th , hope the fishing holds on.

LOC, Just wanted to tell you that fishing this year was the best ever of the 10+ years I've gone up there. The Crappie were in Blueberry in the back bays. I think I'm sworn to secrecy on where the portage is.

LOC is correct, it does start with a G but it is not the one you are thinking of LU and Marty. Totally different lake, different portage, but good Crappie fishing and some Northerns. Used to be known for it's Walleyes till the Crappie population got so high and the Walleyes went down hill.

LOC I don't think its G, we've never caught a crappie in there. But if it is, did you see MVo's new garcia reel that Marty left on the log?? He'd really like it back.

I am not responible for the loss of that reel. Just the 20 or so lbs of Matt's gear and speakers that are along the trail....and yes, there are no crappie in that lake.

there is or was however a tent and sleeping bag in there and many many rattlin raps.
